CD45RO
T-cell
Clone: UCHL1
UCHL1 was officially designated a CD45RO
at the Fourth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation
Antigens - 1989. The Leukocyte Common Antigen, LCA, family of antigens
comprises at least five high molecular weight glycoproteins (MW 180,
190, 205, 220 kD). These glycoproteins are found on the cell surface of
the majority of human leukocytes. The SIGNET UCHL1 Monoclonal
anti-CD45RO is specific for the 180 kD low molecular weight isoform of
CD45 or Leukocyte Common Antigen (LCA/CD45). This antibody and
antibodies to the high molecular weight form of CD45 (CD45R) seem to
define complementary, largely non-overlapping populations in resting
peripheral T cells. This demonstrates the heterogeneity within the CD4
and CD8 subsets. UCHL1 labels most thymocytes, a subpopulation of
resting T cells within both the CD4 and CD8 subsets, mature activated T
cells, granulocytes and monocytes. Normal B cells or NK cells are
consistently negative. Weak cytoplasmic staining is seen in cases of
centroblastic and immunoblastic lymphoma. The antibody also recognizes
approximately 50% of Human CD4 positive and 35% of CD8 positive T cells
in peripheral blood, as well as functionally distinct subset of human
helper-inducer T cells. Available in:
